City sessions hold their own set of challenges. I have noticed that there is a lot more that can get into your image that doesn’t belong there, from people in the background, or oddities like a modern mailbox next to a old fashioned building. Unless a statement is being made with the image when there are things like that out of place, it is worth your while to take an extra moment to compose and to find the right angle and capture only what you envision. You really have to take the time to know the area you are shooting in in advance, or else make an whole morning or evening of it and have an extended “photographic adventure” if your client has the time. This will give you the chance to explore together and they can give input on any cool spots that jump out at them to shoot in as well.
